My story
My path into naturopathic and mental healthcare has been shaped by both personal experience and a lifelong interest in understanding people—mind, body, and environment. Growing up, I witnessed the impact of mental illness firsthand as my father lived with bipolar disorder for many years. That experience gave me a deep respect for the complexity of mental health, and a desire to look beyond symptom management toward truly understanding root causes and meaningful, lasting support. Following the COVID-19 pandemic, I saw a profound shift in the mental health of my patients and the broader community in Ontario. More than ever, people were struggling with anxiety, depression, burnout, sleep disruption, addiction, and emotional overwhelm. This pivotal moment deepened my commitment to functional medicine for mental health and led me to pursue advanced training through a fellowship with Dr. James Greenblatt MD – Psychiatry Redefined. Through this work, I further developed a practice focus on the biological, nutritional, genetic, biochemical, and metabolic factors that influence mental health—and how targeted testing and personalized treatment can create real change. Alongside clinical practice, I have a strong passion for education. I believe that empowering clients, the public and health professionals with knowledge is key to transforming care. To this end, I develop and teach courses and webinars to the public, as well as to health professionals including nutritionists, nurse practitioners, psychotherapists, and psychologists. My goal is to bridge gaps in understanding and bring a more integrative, science-informed approach to mental healthcare and into broader clinical and community settings. Living in Muskoka, ON and raising my daughter solo has deepened my appreciation for connection—to land, community, and purpose. Today, my work is about helping patients reconnect with their own health story, understand the deeper drivers of their symptoms, and move forward with clarity, resilience, and meaningful support.
